Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Centre (PPvC) at Amrita School of Ayurveda

The peripheral pharmacovigilance centre has been established at Amrita School of Ayurveda in February 2020. It is part of the National Pharmacovigilance program and is funded by the All-India Institute of Ayurveda, Ministry of Ayush. The PPvC documents Adverse Drug Reactions reported by physicians and the general public following administration of Ayurvedic medicines and reports to the Intermediary Pharmacovigilance Centre at Jamnagar, Gujarat. The PPvC also reports misleading advertisements of Ayush products. In addition, the PPvC reguarly conducts classes to spread awareness about the importance of pharmacovigilance of Ayush systems of medicine.
