Abstract : In this article, a third order singularly perturbed boundary value problem has been taken into consideration. We have used finite difference scheme to discretize the problem, where the derivatives are approximated by Newton’s divided difference operator on various types of layer adapted meshes mainly on Bakhvalov–Shishkin mesh and Vulanović mesh. Numerical results are given to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed methods. The results obtained by us shows the robustness of our implemented method.
