Abstract : Thisprojectis an intelligent system that can detect LPG leakage and take preventive steps like shutting the flow of gas automatically. Gas leakages prove to be a major fatal threat when it comes to household accidents. There are many detectors for detecting LPG leakage (e.g. MQ-6) but still they do not take necessary counter-action. Their job is to detect the leakage whereas this project works on stopping the leakage and preventing the gas accident. Commonly the detector detects the leakage and reports them with an alarm, what if no one is able to hear the alarm or what if there are no people in the house, now that's where this project gains its reputation. The IGS closes the prime gas valve directly when the leakage is detected. The closing is done with the help of a motor. There may be questions arising as to what will happen to the risk factor if there are electrical and electronic components near the gas cylinder i.e., if there is electricity near the gas valve it may spark at any time and can become the sole reason for a gas explosion. Not to worry the project abides with primitive rules of caution regarding LPG usage formulated by government. The electronic components are placed at a distance from the gas cylinder. © Research India Publications.
