Abstract : Single-stage boost inverter generates a higher magnitude of AC voltage from low DC input voltage, which eliminates the necessity of conventional two-stage conversion. Due to the high non-linear behavior of these converters, control is complex. In this paper, a new controller has been proposed for a grid-connected single stage dual boost inverter with a combination of proportional resonant (PR) controller and hysteresis controller to improve its performances. However, a second-order harmonic current ripple appears at the DC side of the inverter increasing the internal heat and losses in the energy storage device and degrading its lifetime. To overcome this difficulty, in this paper the Wave Form Control technique has been incorporated with the proposed dual-loop control. Its performance has been compared with the existing dual PR based controller and verified using MATLAB/SIMULINK.
