Abstract : Energy Storage Systems (ESS) are considered to be as an energy reserve in present electric grid. Among Energy Storage Systems batteries are widely used in electronic gadgets, electric and hybrid vehicles. So it is inevitable in our day to day life. The hike in the use of the battery is due to recharging capability and its compact size. To avoid damage of cell and for extending the life of battery have to estimate the State Of Charge(SOC). The SOC cannot be measured directly but it can be estimated by disparate methods. In this paper, planned to estimate the SOC adopting three methods, Proportional-Integral Observer, Kalman Filter and Fuzzy Logic. The modeling of battery and simulation were illustrated and inspected to compare all three SOC estimation techniques.
