Abstract : Over the last half-century, continuous development in all fields of science and technology has changed society’s aspirations in several respects. Computers have proved to be the most daunting and revolutionary in many respects, since they are rooted in a design and abstraction tradition that is radically different from biology. In recent decades, computational biology has grown in importance as a field of research in biological sciences. Computational biology sheds new light on critical research methods and how to apply them to overcome nature’s problems. Bioinformatics is the basis for the biology of structures. The application of computing and information technology to solve biological problems is likely to play an important role in the 21st-century, similar to the role played by molecular biology in biological science. In general over the last quarter-century, computing and information technology has become increasingly integrated into biological research. Since then, computer methods and tools have been used in a wide range of biological studies.
