Abstract : In this paper the multiplexing technique of Synchronous Transport Module (STM), the information structure used to support section layer connections in the Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDK) was analyzed. On the basis of that we designed a STM-1 Cross-Connect system which was implemented on FPGA. This Cross-connect enables use to create flexible SDH network.
