Abstract : Antenna is a device which transmits and receives and electromagnetic signal. This paper suggests the making of a tin can antenna which is of low cost. The properties of the tin can antenna like radiation pattern, Half Power Beam width, Frequency response and also the linear polarization characteristics are measured in this paper using USRP with the association of a software interface, GNU Radio Companion. The first three properties were tested using a single tone signal and the polarization test was performed using a chirp signal. © 2018, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
