Abstract : This study deals with the Design, Fabrication and Testing of the Suspension Subsystem of a four wheeled Single Seater off Road Buggy having double wishbone geometry for the front half of the car and a semi-trailing arm geometry for the rear half. Firstly, the design constraints were identified, and then a suitable design model was drawn up with reference to quarter car and half car models. The design was then analyzed statically through ANSYS and dynamically through MSC ADAMS. The suitable design was then fabricated. Finally, the prototype was terrain tested with five on-board tri-axial accelerometers and data acquisition systems to obtain real-time acceleration values on different test conditions along with video imaging for determining wheel and suspension travel.
