Abstract : Green synthesis of nanoparticles has gained much attention among the scientific community because of its cost effectiveness, simplicity, reduced usage of chemicals and ecofriendly approach. Silver nanoparticles were synthesized using Calotropis gigantean leaf extract, commonly called as crown flower and were characterised using UV spectrophotometry. The Larvicidal potential of the synthesised particles were evaluated. Antimicrobial studies against gram positive and gram negative microorganisms were evaluated using standard methods and the results indicates good activity against both the strains of microorganism studied.
