Abstract : The proposed work discussed in the paper aims to design and develop an application for providing intersection collision warning (ICW) to the vehicles. The main problem faced at the intersection point is the chance of occurrence of collision between vehicles due to careless mistakes in driving and violation in following the traffic rules. The proposed application can pre-vent the collisions at the intersection point using cellular vehicle to everything technology (C-V2X) which enables communication between vehicles. The problem of traffic congestion in the urban and rural arterials is increasing day by day and it is very difficult to handle it at the intersection point when multiple vehicles are approaching the intersection point. The system uses C-V2X technology to communicate with the vehicle in vicinity, and shares information such as position, speed, heading etc. When vehicles are approaching to the intersection point, the application alerts the driver using beep sound, display or light effect, low speed or vibration on steering. In this way the vehicle to vehicle collision at the intersection point can be avoided thus ensuring safety to the driver and other travellers.
