Abstract : The proposed system helps to detect leakage and the presence of hazardous gases such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and liquefied petroleum gas in an enclosed facility. Alternately the system responds based on environmental conditions surrounding the enclosed facility. It can also detect climatic conditions such as rain, daylight, and soon. It alerts the user and triggers the countermeasures. The air quality is monitored with the data that is collected from the sensors. If the presence of hazardous gases is detected the system triggers necessary counteractions. The counteractions include automatic opening or closing of windows, switching on the exhaust fan, siren and sending a mobile alert to the user. The system makes this sensor data available to the user. Users can choose between manual and automatic mode. Under manual mode, the user can control the window. This system not only ensures the safety of the people but also makes life comfortable. The system finds applications in smart homes, industries, mines etc.
