Abstract : This study focuses a multi objective scheduling problem with Real-Time Events (RTE) on Batch Processing Machine (BPM), particularly a diffusion furnace in wafer fabrication. In the literature, different algorithmic approaches are available on dynamic scheduling with RTE, particularly for discrete machine environment. These approaches either modify the current algorithm or make a different algorithm whenever RTE occurs. This study hypothesizes that there is no need to make different algorithm and/or modify the existing efficient algorithm(s) while RTE are occurring, particularly in scheduling BPM. After understanding the computational interactability of the research problem, the proposed research hypothesis is proved both empirically and statistically on nine efficient variants of ATC/BATC based heuristic algorithms.
