Abstract : This paper presents the simplified integration techniques of power line communication (PLC) and visible light communication (VLC). System level model of integrated frequency shift keying (FSK) narrowband PLC and VLC is developed and simulated. Two different techniques are developed for the integration without the use of demodulating the PLC modulated signal. In the first technique, we used a multiplier which gives out an on off keying (OOK) signal to drive the VLC emitter. In the second method, a simple logic is developed to convert the FSK modulated signal from PLC to obtain OOK signal. It is found that the model is able to integrate both PLC and VLC using these techniques and do not need whole process of demodulating the PLC modulated signal and again modulating the signal using different scheme for VLC emitter.
