Amrita School of Ayurveda organises a free EYE and ENT medical camp every six months. This year it was organised second time from August 5 – 9, 2019, for the faculty members of different schools from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham – Amritapuri Campus, inmates of Mata Amritanandamayi Ashram and people residing in the nearby villages.
Special concerns were diabetic retinopathy screening, eyeglass prescription ( if needed), cataract screening and headache screening. Timings were from 9 AM to 4 PM.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr. C. Nagarajan (Br. Sankara Chaitanya) (Medical Director, School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri) in the presence of Dr. Rabinarayan Tripathy (Vice Principal, School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri) and other senior faculty members. Total 200 patients/ health seekers were registered and took consultation from the camp. Post graduate scholars from the department are actively involved in screening the patients and performing various treatment procedures to the camp patients. Total number of procedures conducted in the Shalakya theatre under this camp was around 45-50.
