Ubhaya Bhārati

Ubhaya Bhārati is an online platform to share and read scholarly articles in the arenas of culture, history, philosophy, and sociology. This e magazine is named after ‘Ubhaya Bhārati’, the great scholar and wife of the renowned philosopher Acharya Maṇḍana Miśra. According to the legends, Ādi Śaṅkarācāryaḥ and Ācārya Maṇḍana Miśra engaged in a scholarly debate. They both agreed on appointing Ubhaya Bhārati as an arbiter, in the end, she declared Ādi Śaṅkarācāryaḥ as the winner. Ubhaya Bhārati symbolizes the intellectual honesty which transcends all personal interests, and the Indic idea of ‘vāda’ or the honest debate between contrary ideas to reach the truth. This platform gives opportunities to scholars and researchers to share intellectual ideas with their peers.
