Ms. Rakhi R. currently serves as a Research Associate at the Virtual Labs Project at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Rakhi has expertise in biotechnology and microbiology techniques and served as a subject matter expert for developing virtual laboratory experiments in the Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering disciplines. She plays a key role in pedagogy-based education research on the diffusion of virtual laboratories for bringing education reforms to the current education system. She has conducted several virtual laboratory-based workshops for teachers and students across India. Along with virtual laboratory experiences, she has been involved in various research activities including Neurophysiological Imaging on Integrated yoga-meditation practices, decoding motor behavior biosignatures of arm movement tasks using electroencephalography techniques at Amrita Mind Brain Center.
Rakhi has authored numerous research articles, many of which are published in Scopus-indexed high-impact journals, and international and national conferences. For her significant research contributions, she was honored with the Chancellor’s Publication Excellence Award in 2024 as part of the Amrita Innovation and Research Award (AIRA) in the category of Tier 1 journals. Her contributions marked outstanding achievements in education perspectives and research articles co-authored by her received the iJOE Outstanding Paper Award in 2016. She also received a Certificate of Recognition for her research paper presentation at the International Conference on Technology for Education (T4E), in 2014, and Received the Best Poster Presentation Award at Amrita BioQuest 2013. She has attended several international conferences and presented her research papers based on pedagogy and neuroimaging techniques. She has 20 + publications that have added significant contributions to the university.
