The department of Civil Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering Combatore Campus, students spent time in rural communities as part of their Live-in-Labs projects. The students spent time in Wayanad, Kerala.

Dr. Walter Grestle, Professor, University of New Mexico visited the Department of Civil Engineering, Combatore Campus on 25th August 2014. Professor Walter along with faculty members and students of the department visited Wayanad, Kerala as a part of the Live-in-Labs® project. The department of Civil Engineering supported Amma’s 101 tribal village adopting programme ‘Live-in-Labs®, by performing a contour survey of Motakkara village, Wayanad district. A crew of two staff members and four post graduate students carried out the work on three different hills in an eight day camp, which was preceded by one day preliminary survey camp along with Prof. Walter Grestle , University of New Mexico.
