Talk Title: Empowering Communities through Food Councils: Lessons from the Eastern United States
Valerie Imbruce is the Director of the Center for Environment and Society and an Associate Research Professor in the Department of Anthropology and Archeology at Washington College. She is a facilitative leader who takes a collaborative approach to research, education, and community engagement. Her research and teaching interests include equitable and resilient food systems, and interdisciplinary, place-based and experiential education. She is the author of From Farm to Canal Street: Chinatown’s Alternative Food Network in the Global Marketplace, among other articles and book chapters, most recently in Eating More Asian-America.
