The programme began with lighting of the lamp followed by the prayer. A formal welcome address was given by Mr. Pramod R., of ME Department. The Chair of the Alumni Association, Dr. Supriya M. in her address to the audience was delighted to welcome the alumni and also was happy to note that as the years are passing by, the number of alumni attending the meet is increasing. She also spoke about what are the expectations of the Institute from the alumni. She explained how the Amrita Alumni Chapter at Germany started operating.

Associate Dean and Head, Prof. Rakesh S.G. welcomed the Alumni and appreciated them for making it to the meet in spite of their busy schedules at their work place. He also spoke of the importance of meeting people in person other than being connected through other social networking sites. He also proudly announced the news of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru set to receive the Status of Institute of Eminence. The alumni responded were very happy and proud about the news. Chairmen of various departments including Dr.Nagaraja S.R., Dr. N.S. Murty, Dr.Amudha J. and Dr. Rashmi M.R. addressed the alumni and spoke about alumni being the brand ambassadors of Amrita. They stressed on the point that the moral quotient that they are inculcated within Amrita has made them reach the heights they are in and expressed their happiness to hear that all the alumni were doing good professionally & personally.

The alumni expressed their appreciation to the school for having organized such meets and expressed the fact that the value-based education that Amrita practices have made them stand out in the crowd and it is these values that make them choose what is correct over the incorrect paths.

The later part of the event was devoted to recreation with cultural activities. Raaga-the music club and Narthana-the dance club of the School presented myriad mellifluous musical performances and electrifying dances to applause from the crowd. As a token of appreciation and good will, a memento was presented to all the Alumni for their participation in the meet.

The Alumni Meet closed with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Mamatha T.M. from Department of Mathematics. The alumni parted with a resolve to visit again, contribute towards appraising the students of Amrita with the current trends, technology in the Industry and also towards the prospective alumni chapter.
