One of the main deployment challenges in wireless IoT is to provide reliable communication links between power-constrained IoT nodes/devices. This talk examines various IoT physical layer channel impairments such as attenuation because of the propagation losses, noise, random fluctuations because of fading and shadowing impacts over the channel, and the non-line-of-sight (NLOS) because of obstacles in the wireless path. Further, the talk highlights the need for adequate channel modeling before we deploy IoT nodes such that the system is optimized in terms of energy consumption and reliability in communications.
About Amrita Center for Wireless Networks & Applications:
The Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (Amrita WNA) is a cutting-edge, interdisciplinary Center for teaching and research at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kollam campus.
