Amrita Center for Wireless Networks & Applications, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is organizing a Webinar on Wireless Channel Modelling for IoT Systems on July 16, 2021 from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm. The webinar will be delivered by Dr. Dhanesh G. Kurup, Professor, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru.
One of the main deployment challenges in wireless IoT is to provide reliable communication links between power-constrained IoT nodes/devices. This talk examines various IoT physical layer channel impairments such as attenuation because of the propagation losses, noise, random fluctuations because of fading and shadowing impacts over the channel, and the non-line-of-sight (NLOS) because of obstacles in the wireless path. Further, the talk highlights the need for adequate channel modeling before we deploy IoT nodes such that the system is optimized in terms of energy consumption and reliability in communications.
The Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (Amrita WNA) is a cutting-edge, interdisciplinary Center for teaching and research at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kollam campus. Launched in 2006, Amrita WNA began as an R&D Center with the vision of promoting, developing, and applying the use of wireless technologies in a variety of fields that would benefit society. The Center offers MTech and Ph.D. Programs.
