Dr. M. Muthulakshmi, is currently working as an Assistant Professor (Selection Grade) in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Nagercoil, India. She has 2 years of industry, 5 years of research and 8 years of academic experience. She completed her PhD from Anna University, Chennai, India, in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Image Processing and Master’s degree in Embedded System Technologies from the same University. She received her B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. She has published 7 scopus indexed journals and 35 scopus indexed conference proceedings, 2 books and has been granted one patent and 1 copyright. She is recipient of INSA Visiting Scientist Fellowship, DST-SERB Junior Research Fellowship, Anna Centenary Research Fellowship and M.E. Gold Medalist. Her research area includes integrating computational engineering and biomedical applications. She is interested in developing wearables, embedded system model, for veterinary health care, public health using signal processing, image processing and machine learning algorithms. She has worked with cardiovascular magnetic resonance images for diagnosis of severity levels of heart failure and dental images for identification of cavities. Currently started her analysis with heart sound signal, respiratory sound signal, animal respiratory health monitoring, lung CT scans, and X-ray images. She is a member of IEEE, Signal Processing Society, Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society.
She is interested in developing wearables and embedded system models for veterinary health care and public health, using signal processing, image processing, and machine learning algorithms. She has worked with cardiovascular magnetic resonance images for the diagnosis of severity levels of heart failure and dental images for the identification of cavities. She has currently started her analysis with lung auscultations, ECG signals, heart sound signals, pig respiratory health monitoring, lung CT scans, and X-ray images.
