Faculty Bio

Dr. Nava Subramaniam (Ph.D. Griffith University, Australia and Dean, School of Business (Coimbatore), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham) Ph.D.’s academic career spans over 30 years, during which she has served in several leadership roles. She has served as the Acting Dean, School of Accounting, and Deputy-Dean Research and Innovation (R&I), AISSC, at RMIT University, Australia, as well as Associate Head of School (R&I) at Deakin University, Australia. She has also held research centre directorships at Deakin University, and Griffith University in Australia.

Dr. Nava is an internationally recognised researcher in the areas of corporate governance and sustainability, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); management controls and assurance, and the accounting profession.  She has held several prestigious grants from the Australian Research Council as lead investigator on public sector governance and carbon emission strategies, as well as professional body-funded projects studying the design of sustainable management control systems, emerging technologies, and SDG governance and disclosure.

Her research work has been published in numerous high-ranked journals including  Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal (AAAJ), British Accounting Review, Management Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Journal of Business Ethics, International Journal of Auditing, and Australian Journal of Management.  Dr. Nava is also a member of the Editorial boards of several prestigious international journals including AAAJ, Managerial Auditing Journal, and Accounting Forum. She is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) with industry working experience as a corporate management accountant, and as an auditor at a Big4 accounting firm.
