Amrita Centre for Nanosciences and Molecular Medicine (ACNSMM), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi, has invested in a state of the art 3 cluster vacuum deposition tool for the research and development of solid state Li ion batteries. Currently there are no solid state Li ion batteries produced in India and research in this area is also new in India.

Dr. Dhamodaran, Assistant Professor, ACNS, Kochi, who is heading this project, came to the center from University of California, San Diego and hopes to bring out cost effective solid-state rechargeable batteries soon.
