Amrita has signed a MoU with M/s Amphi Ventures, Coimbatore today to undertake Industry Research on “Artificial Intelligence (AI) based research for Speech and Natural Language processing”. The Centre for Computational Engineering and Networking (CEN), lead by Dr. K P Soman, at Amrita Coimbatore has played a key role in making this possible.CEN is a small team of highly motivated faculties, involved in multi-disciplinary research in the areas including Computational Mathematics, Machine Translation Systems, Computational Chemistry and Biology, Big Data Management, Medical Signal and Image Processing, GIS development for Agriculture, Speech Synthesis and Recognition, Material Informatics, Material discovery and Drug discovery, AI in Healthcare, Energy and Material Science and Robotics. AI specifically has the potential to bring the industry and academia much closer, giving opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, development activities, updating the curriculum and pedagogy etc.
Amphi Ventures is an umbrella venture to nurture various startups initiatives in education domain, HR ecosystem and medicine. Their focus is on nurturing technology companies that build highly scalable generic software engines which can be easily customized into platforms and products catering to different services in various domains. HRLytics, Amphisoft, ImageOfaChild, SchoolAge, AmphiCore, FrecklEd are some of the initiatives under AmphiVentures.Amphi Ventures is passionately involved in the conception, modelling and productization related to the next gen Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) systems for a variety of social settings across multiple sectors.
During the occasion, Mr Pradeep D, the Director Amphiventures said that the collaboration with Amrita is to explore and propound high impact body of knowledge at the intersection of several cutting edge technologies related to Graph Neural Nets, Natural Language processing, advanced computer vision, data driven dynamical systems modelling, reinforcement learning etc.
