School of Medicine’s ENT Dept Receives Honors

The Amrita School of Medicine continues its tradition of receiving accolades for its academic excellence.
 

Faculty members and PG students from the Amrita School of Medicine’s ENT Department were recently honored at the 8th Annual Conference of the Association of Otolaryngologists of India, Kerala State Branch.
 

Dr. Vineeth ViswamDr. Vineeth Viswam and Dr. Deepthi of Amrita won the best paper prizes at the conference in their respective divisions. Over 350 of their peers from the ENT profession of Kerala were in attendance.
 

Dr. Vineeth Viswam’s paper — Stones, Bones, Moans … and Beyond — was adjudged the best among eight consultant papers.
 

Out of 30 PG papers, the Gold Medal for best paper was won by Dr. Deepthi for her paper — FESS – Are our patients satisfied?
 

Dr. Deepthi was also recognized a second time, winning the Best Poster award for her poster on Kashima’s: The Balancing Act.
 

The conference included a host of academic activities, such as guest lectures, talks, round table discussions and panel discussions.
 

Amrita faculty member Dr. Madhumita was invited to contribute to this academic endeavor, through her talk on Assessing and Managing the Neonate and Infant with Stridor.
 

Consultant papers were presented by Dr. Bini Faizal [Associate Prof.], Dr. Unnikrishnan Menon and Dr. Vineeth Viswam [Asst. Profs.].
 

Dr. Deepthi N.V. [3rd year DNB student] and Dr. Shamly Xavier [2nd year MS student] presented PG papers.
