A study on the impact of Covid-19 on ophthalmic care during lockdown by researchers at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham showed that the percentage of ophthalmic activities across different service providers like teaching hospitals, speciality clinics and standalone clinics went down by 100% in speciality and standalone clinics which it fell by 95% in the full lockdown period on March 24-April 30, 2020.
