A case study on effectiveness of blended teaching approach for enhancing achievement in physics among dropout students

Publisher : Journal of Advanced Research in Dynamical and Control Systems

Year : 2019

Abstract : This study discusses about theblended teaching approach in physics been applied in dropout school which enables the dropout students to grab opportunities to broaden their scientific knowledge and it allows those children to access to online tutorials, Olabs and many of online learning materials. Through the blended teaching approach the children can develop self-confidence along with the scientific knowledge. The objective of this article is to check the effectiveness of performances of dropout students in physics by replacing the traditional teacher centered approach with blended teaching approach. It is a learner centered approach, since it facilitates the pupils in self-learning. In this approach the students will be taught by using various online learning resources and their performances will be measured based on the learning through blended teaching approach. The study is an experimental study which involved one group pre-test post-test design. The sample for the study included 29 students. The tools used for the study is an achievement test in physics and a module was prepared based on blended teaching approach. The statistical techniques used to analyze the data were descriptive statistics, t-test, paired t-test. The findings of the study proved that the blended teaching approach is very much effectiveto the core in dropout schools and it has enhanced the achievement of students in physics when it is implemented in dropout school in Mysuru city. © 2019, Institute of Advanced Scientific Research, Inc..
