Abstract : Smart grid is the future of Electrical power grids. It combines both operational technology and information technology and applies it over the power grid. Smart grid with increased number of sensors and PMU modules enables a synchronized and accurate measurement of data, which could be used for analysis and control of the renewable and non-renewable resources injected in to the grid. This paper presents a centralized control strategy for a Smart grid test bed system. This system satisfies the various features of Smart grid like load management and self-healing. A GUI application developed for the monitoring side makes it possible to manually control the various scenarios of the grid. Data collected, are stored in a database for reference and analysis.
