Abstract : Tree gums are important forest produce that has been influenced in society as food and nonfood ingredients for centuries. The development of gums in the medicinal domain and other manufacturing or engineering fields is still challenging and progressing. The major impacts of various industrial tree gums (arabic, karaya, kondagogu, tragacanth, and guar) and their complexes in the form of nanoparticles, nanofibers, hydrogel, nanogel, and other nanocomposite forms in biomedical fields are extensively considered in this chapter. Special emphasis is placed on tree gums and their nano-architectures on tissue engineering, antimicrobial, drug delivery, wound healing, cancer therapy, nanomedicine, and bioimaging. Furthermore, impacts of nontoxicity, biocompatibility, availability, eco-friendliness, and biodegradability of the tree gum-based nanostructures and their influences or benefits on the various biomedical branches are exemplified.
