Abstract : Nanotechnology is one of the most significant spots of science and technology that can be employed in several application domains. With rapid industrialization and development of many sectors in the last few decades, researchers are worked hard to develop and commercialize new forms of renewable energy recourses especially in the solar energy sector. Out of many solar energy trapping applications, solar pho‐tovoltaics and solar heating contribute to the major consumption of solar energy. In recent years, trapping and utilization of solar energy are further improved by adding nanotechnology in the form of nanostructured materials. This chapter is aimed at a review of the synthesis route of nanostructure materials and their applications in the field of solar photovoltaics and solar thermal photovoltaics.
