Abstract : Among different five member heterocyclic systems Pyrrole, Oxadiazole, Thiadiazole, Triazole and their derivatives have gained importance as they constitute the structural features of many bioactive compounds. Among them 1,3,4-oxadiazole are of significant interest in medicinal chemistry. 1,3,4-oxadiazole is a highly privileged structure and its derivatives exhibit a wide range of biological activities including antibacterial, anti-tubercular, vaso-dialatory, antifungal, cytotoxic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic, hypo-lipidemic, anti-cancer and ulcero-genic activities. Furamizole is a compound which is based upon 1,3,4-oxidiazole ring and has strong Antibacterial Activity.
