Abstract : In the present world energy efficiency has become the main role in any of the smart systems introduced. Mainly in outdoor lighting systems where a big amount of energy is wasted by using the conventional bulbs, smartness and efficiency play important role in making big difference in power consumption. The proposed lighting system can optimize the consumption of energy by the street lights. It operated the street lights in a smart and efficient way to increase its efficiency. It uses MQTT, an IOT lightweight protocol. It uses a sensor combined to a controller which connects a group of lamps via an MQTT broker. The main node also uses the real-time clock to control the intensity of the lamps according to the time despite the sensor input. © 2018 IEEE.
