Abstract : It has become increasingly important to detect vehicle theft as the number of thefts increases. New strategies are being developed to overcome and prevent vehicle theft. The downside of vehicle theft is a result of recent technological advancements. This work proposes the use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) cards, authorized keys, Global Positioning System (GPS), and cameras to prevent vehicle theft and means to identify the person driving the vehicle. The RFID reader is connected to the car and requires card authorization to enter the car. The vehicle location is tracked by the use of GPS module. The camera captures the image of the driver and checks the driver's identity. If the car is stolen, the camera takes the picture of the thief and sends the location and the profile of the thief to the vehicle owner via Short Message Service (SMS). Using GPS technology, the proposed system provides regular notification to car owners about the position of their cars. The second case uses the camera for authorization and if the person is authorized then there will be no wheel locking. if the person is not authorized, it will show unauthorized access and alert the owner of the car. The location of the vehicle is tracked using GPS. If there is any tampering with the vehicle the GPS position of the vehicle is tracked and sent to the owner of the car.
