Building relationships through sports

Overview

Amrita University strongly beieves in the philosophy that sports is a great tool to build character, improve fitness, and foster relationships. We also acknowledge the fact that learning should not be limited to classrooms. Team sports, we believe, offers a controlled setup for an individual to learn a few of life’s most important lessons. Based on those idologies, the Physical Education Department in Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham invites and hosts other higher education institutes in its vicinty for friendly matches in various sports, on a peridoc basis.

In November 2019, Amrita played host to Indian Institute of Technology, Palakkad. A series of friendly matches were played between the 2 institutes in various sports such as Football, Basketball and Volleyball. The sports facilities required to conduct these events were offered free of cost.
