Distinguis​hed Address by World Renowned Humanitari​an Leader and our Chancellor​ at Stanford University

Stanford University hosted a rare event in which, world renowned humanitarian leader and our Chancellor, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma), in a dialogue with leading neurosurgeon Dr. James Doty in the packed Memorial Auditorium, shares deep insight into the immense power of compassion, whether it is in science, technology, business, or in fact, in any sphere of human activity.

Pandit Karuppan Award for Amma

Amma was presented with the Pandit Karuppan Award at her program in Kochi today. The award was presented by Moopil Swamiyar Shankarananda Brahmananda Bhooti, the spiritual head of the Trissur Brahmaswom Matham, an Ashram in the lineage of Adi Sankaracharya dedicated to the propagation of Vedic knowledge. The award was given to Amma for her dedication, sacrifice and outstanding contributions to society.

Chancellor Amma meets US Congress people at the Capitol Building. Amma met the Congress members on the invitation of Congress women Lucille Roybal-Allard (California) and Betty McCollum (Minnesota), said a statement from Mata Amritanandamayi Math vice-chairman Swami Amritaswarupananda.

Vishwaretna Puraskar Presented to Chancellor Amma by Hindu Parliament

During Amma’s visit to her ashram in Kaimanam, Thiruvananthapuram, Shri Uthradam Thirunal Marthanda Varma, the Maharaja of Travancore and head of the Travancore royal family, presented Amma with the first-ever Vishwaretna Puraskar (Gem of the World Award), bestowed by newly constituted Hindu Parliament.

International Women’s Day at Amrita

Thousands of students, faculty and staff of the Amritapuri campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham joined residents of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math to form a human chain that extended over a few kilometres this International Women’s Day on March 8, 2013.
