Amrita University received award of INR Rs.15,000 at the IMTEX 2015, for its outstanding research work titled Brain Controlled Interface for Robotic Applications. The university was conferred the award at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) in Bangalore for its work titled Brain Controlled Interface for Robotic Applications. The research work is headed by Professor Dr. Ganesha Udupa, Assistant Professor and his team members Pramod S., Arjun B. Krishnan and Prof. G. J Nair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri.
An Amrita paper titled, “Design of Spider Mechanism for Extraterrestrial Rover”, won the best paper award at the 2nd International Conference on Emerging Trends in Mechanical Engineering (ICETME – 2015) organized by the department of Mechanical Engineering, Toc H Institute of Science and Technology (TIST), Ernakulam, Kerala from September 3-5, 2015. The paper was presented by Adithye Suresh, final-year Mechanical Engineering student, Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri.
Amrita won the Exhibition of Academia Project award at the IMTEX Forming 2014, 16th Indian Metal-cutting Machine Tool Exhibition, held at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bangalore. The exhibit showcased Amrita’s novel patented technology on the manufacturing of Anti-Bourdon tube pressure gauge and Prosthetic Robotic Hand. The team won third prize for their research work Innovative Anti–bourdon Tube Pressure Gauge for Manufacturing Industries and received a cash prize of INR Rs.15, 000.
Dr. Ganesha Udupa was conferred with the Award of Excellence for the excellent performance during the academic year 2012-2013.
Amrita paper entitled A novel technique for the development of artificial Human Hand for Prosthetic Application by Dr. Ganesha Udupa has been adjudged the best paper in the National Conference on Applications of Data Mining in Management of Metabolic and Degerative Disorders, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysore, from April 16-18, 2012.
Amrita paper entitled An Intelligent Plant Information System: Wireless Electromyograph for Pre-detection of Environmental Hazards by Aditya K. has been adjudged the best poster award in the International Conference on Wireless Technologies for Humanitarian Relief from December 18-21, 2011.
