Amrita Wins Third Prize at the IMTEX Forming 2014’s Exhibition of Academia Project

Amrita won the Exhibition of Academia Project award at the IMTEX Forming 2014, 16th Indian Metal-cutting Machine Tool Exhibition, held at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bangalore. The exhibit showcased Amrita’s novel patented technology on the manufacturing of Anti-Bourdon tube pressure gauge and Prosthetic Robotic Hand.   Amrita wins third in IMTEX Forming 2014’s Exhibition of Academia Project awards  

The team won third prize for their research work Innovative Anti–bourdon Tube Pressure Gauge for Manufacturing Industries and received a cash prize of INR Rs.15, 000.  

The research work is headed by Professor Dr. Ganesha Udupa, Assistant Professor and his team members Pramod Sreedharan and Lecturer K. N. Surendran of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri. Dr. Ganesha Udupa explained the jury of experts about the research findings of the novel devices.

IMTEX Forming is an exclusive business-to-business exhibition, about the exhaustive range of forming technologies in all engineering applications and other materials, from the organizers of the globally-renowned IMTEX brand. The six-day forming exhibition started from January 23 to January 28.    

The show featured 440 exhibitors who displayed 500 machines tools and had participation from 24 countries including China, Germany, Czech, Republic and Taiwan.   Amrita wins third in IMTEX Forming 2014’s Exhibition of Academia Project awards  

In the meantime, two teams from Amrita School of Engineering, Bangalore campus also presented and exhibited posters at the IMTEX Forming 2014. Prashanth B. N. and Pramod R., Assistant Professors, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Bangalore presented and exhibited a poster on Waste Segregation System using Automated Garbage Bin. Ravi Kumar V., Shashi Kumar M. E., Mohan Kumar S. and Akhil J., Assistant Professors of the Department of Mechanical Engineering also participated in the exhibition.  Mechanical Engineering department forum, Ingenium, also arranged an industrial exhibition visit to IMTEX Forming 2014. Over 182 students participated.
