ASBT Faculty Participates in International Conference on Bacteriophage Research and Antimicrobial Resistance, VIT, Vellore

Faculty and research scholars from Amrita School of Biotechnology attended a two day International Conference on Bacteriophage Research and Antimicrobial Resistance (ICBRAMR) from  December 12-13, 2019, organized by the School of Biosciences and Technology, VIT, Vellore. 

Invited Talk at Indo-UK Conference on Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases

Dr. Sanjay Pal, Associate Professor, Sanitation Biotechnology Lab, School of Biotechnology, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus, was invited to present a talk titled, “Complementary Approaches to Combat Antibiotic Resistance in Bacteria” at the Indo-UK Conference on Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases, held at Inter University Centre for Biomedical Research and Super Speciality Hospital (IUCBR & SSH), Kottayam, Kerala, from February 25-26, 2019. 

Biotechnology Faculty Delivers Talk at CSE Knowledge Conclave, Rajasthan

Dr. Sanjay Pal, Associate Professor, Sanitation Biotechnology Lab, School of Biotechnology, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus, was invited to deliver a talk titled, “Biocontrol of Infection and Smell in Wastewater for Use in Agriculture and Aquaculture” at the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) Knowledge's Conclave on “Designing and Implementing Affordable and Sustainable Sanitation for All”, organized by the Centre for Science and Education, held on the beautiful campus of CSE’s Anil Agarwal Environment Training Institute in Nimli, Rajasthan, on April 4, 2019.

Professor Thor Axel Stenström, SARChI (South African Research Chair Initiative) Chair in Development and Optimization of Wastewater Treatment Technology for Developing Economies, at Institute for Water and Wastewater Technology Durban University of Technology, visited Amrita School of Biotechnology on 27-28 February,2017, to explore different opportunities of collaboration with Sanitation Biotechnology Laboratory of Amrita School of Biotechnology as part of the project funded by Bill & Melinda Gates foundation.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham joins Indo-Canada Collaboration on Municipal Wastewater Treatment

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has had partnered with The India-Canada Centre for Innovative Multidisciplinary Partnerships to Accelerate Community Transformation and Sustainability (IC-IMPACTS) to develop and implement community-based solutions to meet the most urgent needs of Canada and India: poor water quality, unsafe and unsustainable infrastructure, and poor health from waterbornewater-borne and infectious diseases. The collaboration is to develop and test local solutions that can be scaled up across India and Canada.
