Facilities at Amrita Agilent Analytical Research Center
- Agilent 6540 Q-TOF LC-MS
The configuration includes 1260 Infinity series nano and capillary HPLCs, 6540 series UHD Accurate-Mass Quadrupole Time-of-Flight mass spectrometer and a Chip Cube MS interface, a microfluidic chip-based system specifically designed for nanospray sample infusion. The mass spectrometer is also equipped with a jet stream electrospray source for high-flow and low-flow applications. This system with MS/MS capability is used for accurate mass determination of small molecules, small molecule quantitation and structural characterization, mass determination of larger proteins, and qualitative and quantitative proteomics.
- Agilent 6340 Ion Trap LC-MS
The 6340 Ion Trap LC-MS is a complete system with MSn capability and CID and ETD fragmentation option. The hardware includes an Agilent 1200 Series LC, an ion trap mass spectrometer and the data system. Additionally, the Ion Trap LC-MS comes with a syringe pump for both low-flow and high-flow direct infusion work. The software includes the TrapControl program for trap control, data acquisition, data analysis, quantitative analysis, and the Agilent ChemStation program for sample automation and LC control.
- Agilent 1290 Infinity LC System
The Agilent 1290 Infinity LC system is designed to provide highest speed, resolution and sensitivity. A new power range allows to deploy any particle type, any column dimensions, or any mobile and stationary phases. Innovative technology components offer the next level of performance for both UHPLC and HPLC applications. The Agilent 1290 Infinity LC is the first system that provides the foundation for method transfer to or from any Agilent or non-Agilent UHPLC or HPLC system.
- Agilent 1200 series ELSD: Universal detection with optimum sensitivity for isocratic and gradient analysis
The Agilent 1200 Series evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD) is a powerful tool for sensitive detection of any compound that is less volatile than the mobile phase. It provides an essentially universal measurement under isocratic and gradient conditions independent of a compound’s absorbance, fluorescence or electro-activity. Low temperature evaporation technology enables detection of semi-volatile and thermally-sensitive compounds at low levels.
- Agilent 8453 UV-visible Spectroscopy System
This includes an Agilent 8453 spectrophotometer and a general purpose Agilent ChemStation software for UV- visible spectroscopy running on a PC with the supported Microsoft operating system(s). These two components are linked together by a network connection. The Agilent 8453 spectrophotometer is the core of powerful UV-Visible systems for routine and occasional users. The spectrophotometer offers all the diode-array advantages – fast scanning, excellent sensitivity, virtually absolute wavelength reproducibility, exceptional ruggedness and reliability, minimum maintenance and open sample area, and excellent optical performance. A wavelength range of 190 to 1100 nm with a resolution of better than 2 nm and less than 0.03 % stray light is standard.
- nano-LC: Varian (Agilent) 216-LC with nano-Electro Spray Interface for MS
The Agilent 216-nano LC is a compact, high performance liquid chromatography system designed for split-free flows in a nanoLiter/min range. The system provides ease of use and ease of service without sacrificing functionality or performance.
- Data Analysis Software
Analysis of proteomics data is facilitated through software packages such as Mascot (Matrix Science), Spectrum Mill (Agilent) and Scaffold (Proteome Software).
- 2D PAGE System
The configuration comprises of Bio-Rad's Protean IEF system, 1D PAGE apparatus, Gel Doc image capturing system and PDQuest image analysis software.
