UDGHOSH 2020, the annual sports fest of Amrita School of Pharmacy, conducted by batch of 2018, PRITHVI was a colourful extravaganza. The event was inaugurated on Febuary 8, 2020 in the college auditorium by the esteemed chief guest, Ms. Jeena P S, captain of the Indian Basketball Team. Along with that, unveiling of the college table tennis room, PRAVEGA and the newly renovated basketball court and the revoking of the former sports room, PRAYUJ was also done by the esteemed chief guest and the Principal, Dr. Sabitha M. The five warriors, namesake of the five elements, Samudra, Anthareeksha, Rudra, Aagneya and Prithvi were introduced by releasing balloons carrying the team names into the air. The theme for the year was chosen to be “Spirit in Motion”, which was promoted through various cultural events by the conducting batch and first year students. The preliminary rounds were conducted between 3rd February and 9th March 2020. The final Sports Day was held on 10th and 11th of March. During the course of the event, various indoor and outdoor sports were conducted chess, carroms, badminton, table tennis, cricket, football, throwball, basketball, volleyball and athletics. Events like shot put, carroms, table tennis and cricket for staff were also included. A farewell football match was conducted for the final year students. The winners felicitation ceremony took place on 11th March 2020. Also, the best sportswoman and sportsman of the year, the best emerging player from the batch of 2019 batch and best ground utilize were honoured. The support and encouragement shown by the sports committee, teaching and non teaching staff and all the five teams was commendable. The event was concluded by awarding the rolling trophy to the champions of the year, team ‘RUDRA’ and acknowledging the valuable and commendable efforts put forth by the sports committee and the conducting batch, PRITHVI towards the vibrant success of the event.
