As part of the Amrita IQAC knowledge exchange and best practices with other Higher Educational Institutions (HEI), Amrita Professor Dr. Raghu Raman, Chairman for Amrita School of Business at Coimbatore, was at the 8th International Conference on World-Class Universities (WCU-8) Held on 15- 17 of October 2019 at Shanghai, China. This biennial event was organized by the Center for World-Class Universities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University with the theme “World-Class Universities: Globalization and National Models.”
Dr. Raghu Raman held discussions with Chancellors of UC Riverside Kim A. Wilcox, UC Santa Cruz George Blumenthal, Chancellor Emeritus at Washington University in St. Louis, President Satish Tripathi of SUNY Buffalo, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, International at Deakin University on promoting eminence activities in Higher Educational Institutions.
On the topic of World-Class University rankings and internationalization, Dr. Raghu Raman held meetings with Dr. Jamil Salmi – global territory education expert from World Bank, Prof. Nian Cai Liu – Director for the Center for World-Class Universities, Prof Philip Altbach – founding Director of the Center for International Higher Education at Boston College and Prof. Costa, President of IREG Observatory on Ranking and Excellence, Brazil.
