Dr. Prashant R. Nair, Vice-Chairman and Head of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Coimbatore campus, served as a distinguished panelist for the Conclave on Transforming Businesses in Digital India, organized by the Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) at Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts & Science, Coimbatore, on March 25, 2024. Joining him were other notable panelists including Dr. Deepak Mishra, Director and Chief Executive of the ICRIER think tank; Mr. V. Thirugnanam, President of CODISSIA; and Mr. B. Raghava Srinivasan, Associate Vice-President of the ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu. During the conclave, Dr. Prashant actively contributed to discussions covering a wide array of topics, including infrastructure assessment, literacy, and innovation for Digital India. The panel also explored shifts in consumer behavior, AI integration, and the importance of responsible data utilization. Dr. Prashant highlighted Amrita’s best practices in fostering innovation, such as awarding grace marks for hackathons and competitions, and establishing connections between the university’s Institution Innovation Council (IIC) and Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) in various schools.
