AmritaCREATE, one of the research initiatives of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, in collaboration with Wayanad Sahodaya, conducted a teachers training program on Online Labs for School Lab Experiments at Hill Blooms School, Wayanad, on February 18, 2017. Fifty science teachers from twenty- four schools participated in the training program.
The session was handled by Ms. Sindhu Saju and Mr. Ashish Mohan from AmritaCREATE. They described about the O-Labs project and demonstrated some of the experiments showcased in the project to the participants. Later on, the participants got the opportunity to explore the website in the computer lab of the school during the hands- on session. The training programme ended with the distribution of free Online Labs offline CDs and certificates of participation to the participants.
“Good work. The website is really helpful and motivating for the students and creates interest among them to do lab experiments,” commented Ms. Dhiji K., Kristuraja Public School, Kalpatta.
“The class helps us to compete with the students in better equipped schools and bridges the digital divide and geographical distances,” remarked Ms. Soumya K. C., Modern Public School, Kellur.
