In a colloquium held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Bengaluru campus, on 3rd December 2016, Ramya K. S., Equity Analyst in H.S.B.C Global Research, interacted with students of Amrita School of Business, Bengaluru. Her talk focused on different career prospectives for finance such as: insurance, trading, fund management, accountancy and tax and corporate law. Ms. Ramya further explained the skills needed to be a world class equity research analyst. She also emphasized the importance of learning programming languages such as R and Python, as these are considered to be key tools which are widely used in the analytical world. She concluded by emphasizing that it’s all skill that matters in the long run, that one should enhance skill sets throughout life, and that learning never stops!!
