Around 160 people including students from all NSS units and faculties attended the program. All NSS program officers, NSS program coordinator and student coordinators were present.

The formal function began with a prayer recited by Miss Sakthi Bhavani from 2nd year Integrated MSc. Physics Dept. followed by a welcome speech by Miss Smirthi Shammi Raj from 2nd year Integrated MSc. Chemistry Dept.

After that, Dr. D. Venkataraman NSS Programme Coordinator, addressed the gathering and briefed about Swami Vivekananda and his teachings.

He encouraged them to be initiative, active, to grow in a healthy manner in every aspect, and to realise the meaning of life and the value of education. The speaker concluded by giving the message that emphasised on the point: ‘one should be a good human being before anything else’.

In the end, the meeting participants had the opportunity to discuss, ask questions and give their own suggestions and views on various aspects. The discussions also provided several ideas and proposals for future events which will help inform our planning for the next event.
