Ayurveda Clinical e-learning Web Platform (AyurCeL)

Funded by Rashtriya Ayurved Vidyapeeth, Ministry of AYUSH, the Ayurveda Clinical e-Learning (AYURCeL) project aims to create a web platform to showcase the clinical experiences of successful Ayurveda clinicians in a digital form and format that will facilitate continuous clinical learning based on well-documented case studies.

The concept of this clinical e-learning platform, jointly developed by the Amrita Centre for Advanced Research in Ayurveda (ĀCĀRA) and Amrita CREATE, is to develop such an interface in which the real clinical experiences of physicians will be collected, converted into data, and arranged in a structured manner to create an interactive learning environment.

The selected cases and the web platform will undergo a rigorous review by an expert team. This platform will facilitate continued clinical learning in the field of Ayurveda through experts such as:

  • Panel of Contributors
  • Clinicians of Amrita School of Ayurveda
  • Published Case Reports

The features of AYURCeL are:

  • A repository of clinical cases, represented in the form of timelines, will enable to user to get a snapshot view of the case. The user can then choose specific aspects of the case for more details.
  • A query-based module that covers general queries, disease searches, formulations/herb/therapy searches, adverse events, etc.
  • Video resources that will have 300 video clips related to clinical presentations of cases, procedures or will be brief explanations of some concepts related to a particular case.
  • AyurCeL will feature more than 1000 illustrations which will include a combination of photographs, flow charts, timelines, tables, and figures that will enhance the e-Learning experience of the user.
  • A tutorial module will also be there that will give tips to Ayurveda clinicians for proper documentation of cases, tips for publication of case reports, and guidance on obtaining informed consent for publication of clinical case reports.
  • A page that lists the panel of contributors will acknowledge the clinicians who have contributed their cases for this web module.
  • An evaluation and assessment module will be present to the users which will also provide completion certificates
  • Publications that describe the AYURCeL Web Platform and the results of the pilot testing and training of practitioners, as well as clinical cases, will be prepared.
