• Wayfinding can be defined as spatial problem solving. It is knowing where you are in a building or an environment, knowing where your desired location is, and knowing how to get there from your present location. Wayfinding is particularly important in complex built environments such as urban centers, healthcare and educational campuses, and transportation facilities. As architectural environments become more complicated, people need visual cues such as maps, directions, and symbols to help guide them to their destinations. In indoor, GPS doesn’t seems to work indoors as the satellite links are blocked or unreliable inside buildings. Indoor navigation and wayfinding is important as it may be used to find a shop in a shopping mall or locations in a hospital.

  • The project aims to design, develop and analyse an encryption algorithm.

  • The transfer functions used for volume rendering of 3D models from MRI images is modelled by various methods of feature extraction. One dimensional transfer functions are extended to two dimensions using the spatial relationship of the features in the MRI images.

  • The project titled “An automated system to mitigate loss of life at unmanned level crossings " is funded by Texas Instruments India. Mr. V. Anantha Narayanan is the Principal Investigator. The duration of the project is 6 months.

  • The project proposes to develop a hardware based network intrusion detection system for high speed networks.

  • The aim of this work is the generation of a three dimensional (3D) model of a Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) image from a singular two dimensional (2D) image using filtering, feature extraction, segmentation and mapping of the depth of the features on the nano surface.

  • The project titled “Smart Handheld  Device for Detection of Gas Poisoning in Sewage Works" is funded by Amrita TBI. Mr. V. Anantha Narayanan is the Principal Investigator. The duration of the project is 6 months.

  • The project titled “Predictive Modeling of Complex IT systems" is funded by DRDO. Mr. Prashant R. Nair, Dr. M. Sethumadhavan are the investigators. The duration of the project is 1 year.

  • This project aims to improve the state of art in effective retrieval of text and image data from large web corpora. As part of this project novel topic modeling approaches and change detection algorithms are being developed to improve the retrieval efficiency.
