“ During my fieldwork in Kanti village, I actively participated in a health and nutrition awareness program. Collaborating with fellow trainees, we organized an event to educate approximately 30 women on balanced diets and personal hygiene. The program included activities such as BMI calculation, data collection, and a comprehensive session on the significance of good nutrition. Witnessing the positive response and increased awareness among the women was truly rewarding. It highlighted the practical impact of community engagement and reinforced my belief in the transformative power of education and awareness in promoting healthier lifestyles. This experience emphasized the vital role social work plays in fostering positive change at the grassroots level”.

“ Our MSW fieldwork journey led us to the quaint village of Brahmanipal in Odisha, where the embrace of tradition greeted us with open arms. As we stepped foot into the village, the air was filled with the sweet fragrance of flowers and the gentle rustle of rice grains, a symbolic gesture of their warm welcome. The villagers, adorned in vibrant attire, enveloped us in their hospitality, inviting us into their homes where the essence of authenticity permeated every corner. Their traditional drinks and meals became a gateway to understanding their culture and way of life. It was a moment of pure connection, where laughter and stories intertwined, bridging the gap between strangers and friends. Embarking on a tour of their village, we witnessed the heart of community life – from the bustling school where children’s laughter echoed through the corridors to the Amrita Wadi project, a beacon of hope and empowerment. Every household opened its doors to us, sharing not just their space but their stories, dreams, and aspirations. As the time to bid farewell approached, an overwhelming sense of sadness engulfed the village, and hugs became a silent testament to the bonds forged in mere days. In that moment, leaving Brahmanipal felt like leaving a piece of our hearts behind, forever intertwined with the warmth and generosity of its people ”

“As a budding social worker who did a lot of field visits and this latest rural camp at Vattavada I was more aware and had a good understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a professional social worker. I was able to apply more of my theoretical knowledge on the field. The most inspiring aspects of the camp was witnessing the resilience and community cohesion among villagers despite facing numerous adversities.”

“In the heart of Coimbatore lies the quaint village of Ettimadai, where the essence of beauty is not just in its landscapes but also in the hearts of its people, brimming with love and warmth. As I wandered through its winding streets, I couldn’t help but admire the diligence of its residents. From the youngest lad in a humble abode to the most seasoned elder, every soul was devoted to toil. What struck me most was the profound sense of unity that bound the community together. Despite their diverse backgrounds and walks of life, they stood shoulder to shoulder, united in their endeavors. Their commitment to preserving their culture and traditions was unwavering, woven into the very fabric of their daily lives. In Ettimadai, the rhythm of hard work harmonized with the melody of tradition, creating a symphony of resilience and unity that echoed through the ages ”.
