The eight-day online workshop on “Parāprāveśikā: Entering into the Supreme Reality” was conducted by Amrita Darshanam – International Centre for Spiritual Studies (ICSS) at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru campus, during the period from April 6, to June 6, 2021. It was the first in the workshop series on Kashmiri Śaiva Tantra.
The online inauguration was conducted by Ms. Yogita Chhatre (Assistant Professor, Amrita Darshanam, Bengaluru campus) on April 6, 2021, on the Microsoft Teams. Dr. Tanashree Redij (Assistant Professor, Amrita Darshanam, Bengaluru campus and Convener of the Workshop) gave a welcome address and an overview of the workshop. Swami Sankaramritananda Puri (Medical Director and Principal, School of Ayurveda, Amritapuri), the guest of honor of the inaugural session, delivered his address on the Southern Indian Śaiva tradition.
Ācārya Dr. Nihar Purohit, an esteemed expert in the field of Kashmir Śaivism, was the resource person of the workshop. The detailed insight on the text “Parāprāveśikā” was given in this workshop along with the fundamentals of non-dual Śaiva Tantra of Kashmir. The workshop was attended by around 57 participants of various backgrounds across the globe who had a keen interest in learning Kashmiri Śaiva Tantra. The workshop had been an inspiring spiritual and cultural experience for all the participants.
The workshop was concluded with the valedictory program in the presence of Dr. Balakrishanan Shankar (Dean, Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences and Associate Dean, School of Engineering, Amritapuri campus). The workshop was formally ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Pavan Kumar (Yoga Instructor, Amrita Darshanam, Bengaluru campus).
